Our Values and our Home

As a small family run Care Home Group, we have a set of core values we use as our model, these values apply to all of our staff and residents and we strive to maintain these values to ensure Langford Park is not only a wonderful place to live, but that our staff find it a wonderful place to work.

Keeping Memories Alive
As age and infirmity take their toll, keeping memories alive is one of the most important things,  “We’re Here To Make Life Better” is the Sainthill signature and we want your time with us to be happy and secure….

Set in a leafy and relaxed suburb, Sainthill House offers personalised, individually tailored residential care and assisted living services. While we’re close to the centre of Exeter, we’re a world away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Sainthill House is a real home from home – but with added care.

We offer residential care with a difference, our care services set us apart from many other care homes. We not only see each resident as an individual, we see them as unique and most importantly, we see them as a person. We understand that whilst moving to a care home may be the right decision, it can also be stressful. It takes time to meet new neighbours, get used to sleeping in a new bedroom and understand the daily routine of the home.

At Sainthill House, we believe that great care starts with great people. Our resident’s are supported by a team who have extensive knowledge and experience in residential care. Every resident has a designated support worker who really gets to know each resident with whom they work. Every team member undergoes thorough and continued training to make sure that we always strive to deliver the highest quality care to all our residents.

Celebrating individuality

Quite simply, everything we do is based on a very clear mission: to add life to years as well as adding years to life.  At Sainthill House, we believe that no two people are exactly alike and that no two residents need precisely the same service. Our resident-centered approach enables Sainthill House residents to maintain independence and dignity, even as their individual needs change. Every resident who comes to live at Sainthill House is personally assessed for the level of care that they will need. All of this information goes into an Individualised Care Plan (ICP) which is constantly monitored and updated. This means that – even as care needs change over time – each resident and their family can be sure they’re receiving the most appropriate care for them.

Enabling choice

You can see the Sainthill House ethos embraces all of the comforts of home. Our residents bring their own treasured items to add their personal sense of style to their personal living area. Communal areas are designed to be comfortable, welcoming, relaxed and safe.
You can taste the difference at Sainthill House, too. All our food is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of older adults. Our cooks use fresh, tasty ingredients in traditional, favourite recipes. As a result, Sainthill resident’s all enjoy three delicious, well-balanced meals each day, as well as a variety of menu choices and snacks throughout the day.
Options are a way of life at Sainthill House. In our dining room, for instance, the menu always includes home cooked meals available along with regular favourites. Catering for special dietary requirements is also a norm for us.

Preserving dignity

Dignity is at the heart of everything we do. Each resident at Sainthill House has a unique life story that we want to hear and understand. Our staff engage in meaningful activities that create not only enjoyable pastimes but also a sense of purpose.  Pleasant attitude, good manners, and enthusiasm are simple ‘tools’ our support workers use to bolster resident’s whose self-esteem may be low.

Encouraging independence

Sainthill House is the home of our resident’s and we are always mindful of this. So we enable our residents to be self-reliant in whatever way is possible and comfortable.  Our tailored care packages enable us to deliver the best possible care to each resident and create a real sense of home. By preserving dignity, respecting independence and promoting life enrichment, we endeavour to deliver the best possible care for each resident

Involving family and friends

Family and friends are welcome to participate in all our activities and events; we encourage guests to spend time with residents so you never have to plan around “visiting hours.” We also recognise the importance of communicating openly and regularly with family members to ensure we are providing the very best service to our residents. Life’s about more than simply existing. At Sainthill House we care for more than the physical needs of our residents, social interaction, mental stimulation are all available based on each resident’s preferences.
